Thirty minutes away from Pasto city is Maregato; a new climbing park with very hard volcanic rocks. You will find mostly dihedral formations with blind or very thin cracks, roofs and very sharp edges.

There are two routes to de repeated:

1. "El Carecuy" 5.10 - 22m aprox.
You will need big pieces and some nuts.
It has an anchor at the top.

2. "El Ukumare" 5.11 60-70m aprox.
A complete rack will be useful. It has an anchor at the top.

How to get there:
You get out of the urban hull and a couple of kilometers before coming to Nariño's Municipality you go down by an uncovered road that is in good condition (for 5 mins.), there you will arrive to a place where you can leave the car and you cross a clasp (it is better if you ask permission for both of these). After a 10 minutes’ walk, going down, you will see the rocks that are on both sides of an 80m water fall; an amazing landscape with a green valley, under the skirts of the "Galeras" volcano.

We Recommend
To greet and treat well the peasants and people of the region.

For new traditional climbing routes, climb them on lead without using pitons, in order to maintain the adventurous spirit of the place.

Do not remove the vegetation or rocks from its place.

Leave the place clean with no rubbish.

Keep the place in the most natural conditions.

For new sports climbing routes stay away from the crack (at least 4m) and protect them carefully so that any person, no matter their experience, can climb them in a secure way.
